Hi! I'm Cheryl, 46 yr old wife and mother of a beautiful 15 yr old daughter. I live in Folsom, California (yes, OUTSIDE the prison walls). For those of you who don't know where that is, it's about 100 miles Northeast of San Francisco to the west and 80 miles from Lake Tahoe to the east. Folsom is a wonderful city, big city feel in some respects, but close enough to nature that in 20 minutes you can be lost in the woods.
I'm currently working as an Escrow Officer for a title company (I handle the money and paperwork involved in the transfer of real estate), but my real joy is music. I've played piano and have sung in choirs most of my life and am an active participant, and leader, in the music ministry at my church. I sometimes refer to it as my "unpaid" full time job, but in retrospect, I am paid over and over again every day in blessings. I thank God every day for the gift of music in my life.
I've been married to my husband for almost 22 yrs now. We met in college as voice majors at Cal State Univ @ Long Beach, so we share the joy of music. And the good news is we passed this joy along to our daughter. She is 15 now, and has a passion for music that is unequaled. She assisted me in writing one of the songs that you can hear by clicking the link to "Will You Be There?". This is a song I recently wrote for my father, who passed away from this life on December 24, 2003. The harmony voice you hear is hers.
You can also hear Amanda's voice by clicking on Amazing Grace. She recorded this when she was just 10 yrs old!
Several years ago I wrote a song called 'My Good Luck Charm". It's a song about friends... I hope you like it :)
I also love fishing, but haven't done much lately. Time just seems to fly by too quickly. I'm an avid Sacramento Kings (NBA) fan, and will support my team to the bitter end.
Same goes for the San Francisco 49ers (of course, I'm not sure that the niners will own anything this year or anytime soon, but I still love 'em). I had the great joy of singing the National Anthem for the 49ers when they came to Sacramento (twice!) for a charity basketball game. What a tremendous experience! Not to mention having dinner afterwards with some of my favorite (and extremely LARGE) football players!
So, sign my guestbook! Email me! I'd like to hear from you!
